This magical train ride remains one of Michigan's most beloved holiday traditions. The 2019 season is sold out, save just one date.

Not to say "we told you so," but back in March we told you it was time to think Christmas and buy your tickets for the North Pole Express. Now, Sunday, November 17 is the only date with any tickets remaining, and those are few.

Each year, the Michigan Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso brews up the hot chocolate and stokes the engines of their Pere Marquette 1225 train- the one Hollywood modeled the Polar Express after- and takes riders on an enchanting four-hour Christmas journey, including a stop at the Village of Ashley Country Christmas. The first train leaves the station on November 16 and the schedule runs weekends through December 21, with all but one Sunday sold out already. Hurry, because not even a Christmas miracle will get you a ticket once they are gone!
