The City of Kalamazoo is asking Parchment Public Water Supply customers to flush their water pipes as soon as possible, to help expedite the conversion to Kalamazoo's water supply.

From the City of Kalamazoo's press release:

We are requesting that Parchment Public Water Supply customers flush their individual residential and commercial water pipes to further the progress of the ongoing complete water replacement of the City of Parchment water supply with the City of Kalamazoo water supply due to the recently discovered PFAS contamination. A document prepared by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) titled “Flushing Your Home: How to Flush an Entire House Plumbing System” will be provided to each City of Parchment water customer within the next few days. If you need additional assistance, please contact the City of Parchment and help will be provided by the multi-organization project team.

The City of Kalamazoo says while the conversion to city water is moving forward , they still remind Parchment and Cooper Township residents that the "Parchment Public Water Supply has not yet been determined safe to drink by the MDEQ."
