Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office: 1 Dead In Cooper Twp. Accident

A 29-year-old man died Tuesday night after a two vehicle accident in Cooper Township.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office deputies along with the Cooper Township Fire Department were dispatched to a crash in the 800 block of East D Avenue near the Kalamazoo River around 8:00 p.m.

First responders say a 29-year-old man that was driving eastbound appeared to have crossed the center line and hit a car heading westbound. The eastbound driver was taken to Bronson Hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver of the westbound car was also taken to Ascension Borgess Hospital and was treated and released. Roads around the accident scene remained closed until 11:15 p.m.

Deputies say they believe speed may have been a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.

Names of those involved are being withheld at this time.
