Kalamazoo Man Arrested After Armed Standoff With Police
A standoff between police and a man with a knife ended with an arrest late last night in Kalamazoo.
MLive reports that around 7:30pm Sunday, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Mills St. A 36-year-old Kalamazoo woman told police that an intoxicated male suspect had assaulted her, and threatened her with a knife, before fleeing into a house.
Officers arrived at the scene and tried to get the man to come out, but he refused, so a standoff ensued. Authorities also say the man threatened officers.
The SWAT team was called in, and they eventually executed a search warrant and found the 43-year-old Kalamazoo man inside, and arrested him. The suspect is now facing a charge of felonious domestic assault.
