A Kalamazoo woman was arrested Sunday morning after she allegedly went on a window smashing spree.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that around 5am Sunday, they learned of two separate incidents in downtown where windows at businesses were smashed, causing thousands of dollars in damage. After investigation, officers gained suspect information, and a few hours later they were called to a public facility on Drake Rd. for a subject actively breaking windows; that suspect was found a short distance away, and arrested after a brief struggle.

After the arrest the KDPS heard of another downtown medical facility which had their windows damaged; authorities say that they tied this suspect to all of the incidents. The suspect, a 49-year-old Kalamazoo woman, was arrested on charges of malicious destruction of property and resisting arrest.

Any possible motivation for this string of vandalism was not disclosed; the case continues to be investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division.
