The Kellogg Community College Bruins baseball team didn't need much time to trounce the Macomb Community College Monarchs Thursday with a 13-3 victory in five innings. The win sets up a battle among the top two seeds in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 Tournament in the double-elimination brackets.

Travis Bolen (Watervliet) continues his hot hitting in the tournament, driving in five runs including a grand slam in the fourth inning on his 2-for-3 day. All but one Bruin starter had at least a hit on the day.

Tate Brawley (Niles) threw all five innings for the win on the mound, allowing four hits and fanning four.

The Bruins will now face the Sinclair (OH) Community College Tartan Pride at 11:30 a.m. today at C.O. Brown Stadium. A win will secure their spot in the championship Saturday at Noon. A loss will put them in the final game of the day, taking on the winner of the Macomb Community College - Owens (OH) Community College game. The final spot will be determined at 7:30 p.m. tonight at C.O. Brown.
