Lansing Man Arrested After Allegedly Raping Date In Marshall
A Lansing area man is behind bars after he allegedly raped a woman he was taking on a date in Calhoun County.
WWMT says that 23-year-old Dontez Boykins was in court Monday, to be charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct causing injury, one of third degree CSC, along with charges of kidnapping and assault.
Reportedly Boykins had been meeting in person Friday a 25-year-old woman he had been in contact with online for some time, and the two had planned to go to Firekeeper’s Casino; however, they instead rented a room at the Arbor Inn Hotel in Marshall, where the victim was reportedly choked and sexually assaulted repeatedly.
The two then headed northbound on I-69, when the suspect’s car broke down in Eaton County; a responding sheriff’s deputy was alerted by the victim of the assault, and Boykins was arrested.
If he’s convicted of these charges, he could get life in prison.
