A drug raid was conducted yesterday in Kalamazoo after several citizen complaints.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that on Tuesday, officers from the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Kalamazoo Metro SWAT searched a home in the 1400 block of Princeton Ave and found inside over a pound of marijuana, an ounce of meth, and what is believed to be 35 grams of fentanyl.

Also inside, evidence of drug distribution and two loaded handguns, one stolen, were found.

Two men, a 29-year-old from Benton Harbor and a 28-year-old from Kalamazoo were arrested at the home, and will be facing various charges related to the guns and hard drugs, along with outstanding warrants. A third suspect in this case was located and will be charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and maintaining a drug house, but he was not arrested.

KVET says that this operation was possible thanks to complaints from residents in the area, as well as tips they were provided.
