Newly elected Calhoun County Treasurer Brian Wensauer is picking up where his predecessor left off, reminding residents who are delinquent on property taxes that help exists.

Wensauer, who defeated former treasurer Christine Schauer in the November 2016 election, is reminding folks a March 15, 2017 deadline is set to apply for delinquent property tax assistance.

The programs available help property owners catch up on back taxes, generally, by setting up payment arrangements. Wensauer tells 95.3 WBCK various programs exist according to the stage of delinquency.

As well, Wensauer wants residents to know his office is ready to help residents who owe back taxes, and encourages them to come forward so they may be assisted in a collaborative and helpful way.
