New Mexican Restaurant Coming to Gull Road in Kalamazoo [Photos]

Voted best Mexican food in Kalamazoo by the Kalamazoo Gazette Reader's Choice, Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant is coming to the northwest corner of Kalamazoo. The former Big Boy's building at the corner of Sprinkle and Gull roads has begun renovations to house the new location for this Kalamazoo favorite.

Los Amigos has their original location in Kalamazoo — it's on Stadium Drive.

Along with a fun atmosphere for a sit-in restaurant, Los Amigos offers carry out for orders placed ahead of time. As a Gull Road office worker, I'm sure I'm not alone in rejoicing at this new lunch option!

The first Los Amigos runs off of what they call the "Carlos Passion." When Juan Carlos Ortiz came to Michigan from Kentucky to help save a struggling family restaurant, he knew customer satisfaction and expectation had to have priority number one, and it has shown true.

While the Los Amigos website has yet to announce the new location, they have posted a sign outside their new destination to tease of their coming. No open date has been released.
