Mackenzie's Bakery to Hold Open House Ahead of 4/14 Grand Opening

Who doesn't love getting a new bakery in town?

For a while now, the people of Vicksburg have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Mackenzie's Bakery. And now, it sounds like their grand opening is right around the corner.

If you didn't know, Mackenzie's Bakery has had a long history in the Southwest Michigan area. They had operated in Kalamazoo for 40 years as Mackenzie's Cafe and Bakery until they decided to shut their doors for good in December of 2020.

Nearly a year later, in November of 2021, Mackenzie's announced that they would be opening under Mackenzie's Bakery in Vicksburg in Spring of 2022. And, true to their word, their grand opening is just a couple of weeks away.

While they're not officially open just yet, they are inviting the community to an open house to explore their new location. The open house will take place on Tuesday, April 12th from 3 - 6 pm. You can expect a tour of their space along with their production kitchen, free samples, and the first 300 people in the door will receive a free mini-loaf to take home. Mackenzie's Bakery has finished renovations on their new space and will be celebrating their grand opening on Thursday, April 14th:

The new Mackenzie's Bakery is located at 103 E. Prairie Street in Vicksburg and, after April 14th, will be open:

Tuesday - Friday 7 am - 6 pm
Saturday 8 am - 2 pm
Closed Sunday and Monday
