Medical Marijuana, Michigan and an Economic Argument for It
I will be interviewing Dr. Gary Wolfram tomorrow (Thursday) at the top of the 10:00 hour.
Dr. Wolfram is the William E. Simon Professor of Economics at Hillsdale College and President of Hillsdale Policy Group, a consulting firm specializing in taxation and policy analysis. he received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
Late last year the Michigan Legislature passed and the Governor signed a package of bills, House Bills 4209, 4210 and 4827, that established the framework for a responsible medical marijuana marketplace. Earlier that year Dr. Wolfram wrote a paper titled "The Economic Impact of a Strong Regulatory Framework for Medical Marijuana in Michigan". Dr. Wolfram and I will be discussing the paper he wrote and I will ask him if any events over the last year since he wrote his paper has changed his viewpoint or the economic impact of legal medical marijuana.
