An unexpected death recently shook the medical community in Battle Creek, but now a group of family, friends and organizations are working to honor the loss of their loved one.

The Kyle Lindsey Memorial EMS Fund was established shortly after his death and aims to help students, who are interested in the field of work that Kyle performed at so well, to pay for their own education to begin careers as EMS workers.

Kyle Lindsey was a Harper Creek High School graduate in 2005 and attended Kellogg Community College, pursuing his life-long dream of becoming a paramedic.  He started working for LifeCare Ambulance Service shortly after graduating. To further his service to the community, he joined the Leroy Township Fire Department as a paid on-call firefighter. His interest in medical work began at a young age as his parents remember Kyle, as a toddler, turning his Big Wheels bike into an ambulance loaded with a wagon full of medical tools.

Throughout his career, he was considered a true friend with a kind heart by everyone he encountered, always putting their needs before his own.

“Kyle impacted so many lives and inspired people in our community. I loved him dearly - he will be missed.” - close friend Abby Olsen-Nemeth

Proceeds from a special t-shirt sale will go into The Kyle Lindsey Memorial EMS Fund through the Battle Creek Community Foundation. This Memorial Fund will help future EMS students at Kellogg Community College pay for their education.
