Michigan lawmakers are looking to take smart phones out of driver’s hands. The Associated Press reports that lawmakers are proposing to make Michigan the 15th state to band driving while holding a hand-held phone. Legislators are reportedly alarmed by how many people are staring at their screens instead of the roads. Police and safety advocates say the current prohibition against texting and driving is outdated, vague and difficult to enforce. They’re looking for a blanket ban of hand-held devices. However, drivers could still use hands-free technology.
