Michigan Rep. Asked If Israel Has A Right To Exist; She Has Difficulty Answering That
Raise your hand if you are a racist/bigoted anti-Semite.
I must assume that Detroit and Detroit area Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib either truly believes that there is no such thing as bad publicity or she truly is a bigoted anti-Semite.
Let me first remind you that Tlaib supports boycotting Israel, and stated during a January debate over anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) legislation that pro-Israel senators "forgot which country they represent." Sounds racist and bigoted to me. I wonder why the press is not hounded her about that? I think you know the answer.
Yesterday on Jake Tapper’s CNN’s Sunday morning political show State of the Union, Tlaib had to be asked twice if she believed that Israel had a right to exist. She needed to be asked a second time because she refused to answer it the first time.
Jake Tapper asked Tlaib:
So you talk about the hate agenda and there is criticisms of you from fellow Democrats for your support for the BDS movement for boycott divest sanction, an anti-Israel movement
Tlaib responded saying:
Well it is anti- — it is criticizing the racist policy of Israel and it is a boycott”
Jake Tapper then asked Tlaib the following:
Do you think the Jewish people have the right to a state in the area where Israel exists now?
To that straight forward question that could be easily answered with a yes or no Tlaib replied:
I truly believe the state of Israel is — it exists, correct...But understand does it exist in the detriment of inequality for the Palestinian people, the detriment of not moving forward in a peaceful resolution. We're never going to have peace, I truly believe, if separate but equal is the way they want to go. And I could tell you I learned that from my African-American teachers in Detroit public schools who showed me what the pain of oppression looks like. We're not gonna have peace if we don't understand that we are dehumanizing Palestinians every single day when we choose Israel over their rights
That certainly was a response to a question never asked. Jake Tapper asked again:
Yes or no, does Israel have a right to exist?
Tlaib relented and answered with a qualifier:
Of course but just like Palestinians have a right to exist. Palestinians also have a right to human rights. We can't say one or the other. We have to say it in the same breath or we're not gonna actually have a peaceful resolution
Do you believe she is a racist/bigoted anti-Semite or just a good old fashion American girl?
By the way there is quite a bit of talk over the last few years about gerrymandered districts by the Republicans in Michigan. If this is true why does Tlaib's 13th district look like an upside down U? This is a district that the Democratic Party gerrymandered so well that the Republican Party does not even run a candidate in the race. Whichever Democrat wins their Primary wins the Congressional seat.
