Michigan Universities Added Degree Programs in Marijuana

Yep, you read that right. Students can now major in weed at some universities in Michigan.

Two different universities in Michigan have decided to embrace the new laws around marijuana and are offering programs focused on them. Both of the Universities are in the Upper Peninsula.

Students pursuing college in Marquette will find be able to join in a program at Northern Michigan University. The Medicinal Plant Chemistry program started at Northern back in 2017. In the last two years, the program has grown to 240 students and they expect a large incoming class later this year.

In Sault Ste. Marie, Lake Superior State University will be jumping on the bandwagon in the fall of this year. Two different marijuana majors will be available to students. They will be able to choose between Cannabis Chemistry and Cannabis Business majors.

Don't worry if you don't want to travel to the U.P. to go back to school. The University of Michigan has also added a course in the field called PharmSci 420. No, I did not make that up.
