This map claims to show the most popular Valentine's Day gift by state. But something tells me this might be a bit of a joke.

According to the map produced by Estately, Michigan's most popular Valentine's Day gift is a couples getaway deer hunting trip. Not that there wouldn't be a great reason to check out Iron Mountain or Ontonagon in the middle of February, but I'm not sure if shooting, skinning and then sharing venison steaks would be the top choice of Michiganders.

Still Better Than Ohio

At least Michigan's most popular Valentine's Day gift of a couples deer hunting trip is better than Ohio's "Dinner at Arby's" because nothing says "I Love You" quite like sharing some curly fries and Horsey Sauce.

What Should Michigan's Top Valentine's Day Gift Really Be?

  • 12 Pack of Vernor's or 3-liter of Faygo
  • Couple's Stroll Down the Pier in Grand Haven
  • Box of Mackinac Island Fudge
  • His and Hers Pastys
  • Shopping Spree at Meijer
