It's almost like Michigan has a pimple that needed to be popped. An investigation is currently underway in Melvindale, MI where residents have contacted the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality after discovering a mysterious white bubbly substance pouring out from the ground downriver.

People in the area can find it spilling onto the road at Schaefer Highway between Oakwood Boulevard and I-75, according to Local 4 Detroit. The road was closed down closed after Melvindale police and officials from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department investigated the scene and mystery goo.

A Melvindale police officer who was at the scene said that for precautionary reasons, "they want the whole road shut down right now until we can figure out exactly what's going on." The white foam emerged right by the Marathon Refinery, however they said it has nothing to do with them. It first appeared last week but after being ignored, the substance is now being investigated.
