Night Of Drunken Arguing Leads To Stabbing In Battle Creek
A long night of calls to a residence led to an attempted stabbing early Friday morning.
The Battle Creek Police say that a pair of men who both rented rooms in a house in the first block of Bennett St. had been drinking and arguing all night, leading to repeated calls for police. During one of the calls, authorities told the men to separate, which they did.
However, when police were called once again around midnight Thursday, they found the 45-year-old Battle Creek man with cuts to his hands and the 58-year-old man with a wound above his eye. Police say that the 58-year-old had attacked the younger man with a knife, so he was arrested on an assault with intent to murder charge.
Both men were treated for minor injuries.
