Late Rally Falls Short; Tigers Lose 5-3
The Tigers' four-game winning streak came to an end with a 5-3 loss to the LA Angels on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
The Angels hit home runs in the first and fourth innings and tacked on a run in the 5th to lead 4-0.
In the 6th, Alex Avila got the scoring started for the Tigers with a home run to left center off Angel’s starter Jesse Chavez . A Justin Upton RBI single made it 5-2 after seven innings.
The Tigers scored one in the 8th on a J.D. Martinez sacrifice fly, but Miguel Cabrera was out at second, ending the threat.
In the bottom of the 9th, the Tigers loaded the bases after two were out, but failed to score.
Starter Daniel Norris went 6 innings, and gave 4 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Second baseman, Ian Kinsler was back Tuesday night, after spending 10 days on the disabled list from a hamstring injury. Detroit out-hit the Angels, 10-6.
