One Inning Costs the Tigers
The Detroit Tigers had their opportunities in their third contest of the four-game series with the Cleveland Indians, but one inning would turn out to be the difference in a 3-2 loss Wednesday.
The Indians would score all three runs in the fourth inning behind an RBI triple from Jose Ramirez that drove in two runs.
The Tigers would get on the board in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Jim Adduci, part of a two-hit night. Victor Martinez would pick up an RBI in the fifth with a sacrifice fly.
Matt Boyd (2-2) allowed all three runs in 7 2/3 innings to take the loss on the mound for the Tigers.
The loss also hurt the Tigers roster, as they lost Ian Kinsler to a leg injury in the seventh inning.
The finale of the series and the homestand is Thursday afternoon. Michael Fulmer (2-1, 3.19 ERA) takes the mound for the Tigers, and Danny Salazar (2-2, 4.34 ERA) gets the ball for the Indians. Join us at 12:45pm on 95.3 WBCK Thursday afternoon!
