After a lost dog from Florida somehow ended up in Michigan a good Samaritan drove the dog 1,400 miles only to be rejected.

Somehow, this beautiful pitbull mix went missing from it's Florida home and ended up wandering the streets near Saginaw, Michigan.

The Humane Society of Midland County were able to locate the dog's owner in Florida because he was microchiped according to NBC25news.com,

Her owner says she has no connection to the area or the state for that matter. So she cannot imagine how her dog ended up so far from home.

Luckily, in just a few short days, Blue will be heading back to Florida.

"We will go above and beyond to make sure every animal gets home," says Beth Wellman with the Humane Society of Midland County.

Blue is going home thanks in part to a simple piece of technology, a micro chip.

If my dog were missing I would do anything to get him/her back.  That doesn't seem to be the case for this Florida family.  We don't know the circumstances of the Florida family, however this whole situation seems very odd.

I guess what we can get out of this story is that you should have your pet microchipped so if he/she ever gets lose, someone can track you down.  Oh...and obviously, please adopt your pet don't purchase from a puppy mill.  :)
