If you're planning a weekend stroll along the river in downtown Battle Creek, you should be aware of some ongoing construction work.  Here are the details from a city press release:

Due to the weather, the closure of the downtown pedestrian bridge for railing replacement will be extended to next Saturday, July 25.

The bridge is near the State Street parking lot.

The closure will allow crews to replace the bridge's safety railings, as part of a project to replace more than 2,600 feet of railing along the Battle Creek River between Capital Avenue NE and West Michigan Avenue.
