Recounts Scheduled For Two Close Calhoun County Races

Two recounts will be conducted in Calhoun County, with candidates disputing the results of a pair of races on the August 2 Primary. 

The first recount will be for the Republican race for the office of Sheridan Township Supervisor, with a two vote difference deciding the win on initial count.

SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR RACE (1 winner)

Richard Porter - 109

Kenneth Lauer - 107

After that, The Calhoun County Board of Canvassers will recount votes cast in the Democratic race for Bedford Charter Township Trustee; That race sees 4 candidates chosen, but only one vote separates the 4^th and 5^th vote-getters on initial count.

BEDFORD CHARTER TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE (4 positions):

Sally Shaw: 318

Connie Gibson: 292

Joseph Cipcic: 269

Rande Johnson: 233

Richard J. Harvey: 232

Seth Graves: 165

The recounts will be conducted Monday, August 29 at the County Clerk-Elections Office in Marshall, starting at 9am, and the meeting is open to the public.
