The former President of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy Lawrence W. Reed talks about being attacked while speaking on a college campus.  Larry was in fact the first president of Michigan’s Mackinac Center for Public Policy, where he served for 20 years.  He is currently the President of the Foundation for Economic Education and the author of the book Real Heroes: Inspiring True Stories of Courage, Character and Conviction.

I read an article he recently wrote titled The Bad Manners of the Campus Left.  In that article he describes his less than polite encounter with some students at a speech he gave on an American college campus last week.

Mr. Reed was recently invited by the local chapter of the student organization, Turning Point USA, to the college campus of University of Colorado-Denver to deliver a lecture on “Lessons from Ancient Rome”, yes the speech was on ancient Rome.

When he attempted to deliver his speech he was interrupted by let’s say less than polite and courteous college students.  In fact what he confronted was in his own words:

a minority of radicalized students in the audience, however, was an appalling microcosm of the smug, arrogant, self-righteous, politically-correct, campus insanity that you see on TV with increasing frequency these days
