For all of you who want a $15 dollar an hour minimum wage, beware.  The Business Insider news site is reporting on a robot that according to the article can:

"slice toppings like tomatoes and pickles immediately before it places the slice onto your burger, giving you the freshest burger possible."

The company states that the burger making robot is "more consistent, more sanitary, and can produce ~360 hamburgers per hour."

Who do you think will win when a restaurant is faced with paying a human $15 an hour wage, the line cook or the burger making robot?

You see I am worried about that line cook actually having a job.  I am worried that an entry level job seeker with little to no skills actually having the opportunity to enter the workforce.

People like me who have concerns about an unrealistic, economically, minimum wage do not have sons and daughters who will have to enter the workforce at some point.  Do I want my son or daughter to compete against a machine that can beat them hands down?

The question is why aren’t you?  Do you not think of the possible negative consequences that could come from increasing the minimum wage to a point that the person offering the job has no other option than to purchase the robot?  Or do you not believe it will actually happen?

The competition between line cook and robot is going to become even more competitive.  As being reporting in the Business Insider article the next generation of the device will offer "custom meat grinds for every single customer. Want a patty with 1/3 pork and 2/3 bison ground to order? No problem."

It is not that us who have concerns over the large increases in minimum wage taking money out of our pockets.  Most of us will have nothing to gain from that.  It is us who care about that people who this will affect, people we know and do not know.

The question is why do you not seem to care or realize all the consequences of these laws?
