Sail Into Fall with a Color Tour by Boat

A Bay City business is offering a unique way to see Michigan's spectacular Fall colors aboard a tall ship.

An Autumn road trip just to see the changing colors is an annual rite for Michiganders. Now, you can get a completely different view of the forest and the trees sailing up the Saginaw River out of Bay City on the tall ship Appledore. BaySail has been offering cruises for 20 years and this Fall is sailing the Appledore IV on weekend trips during the month of October.

The schooner is a modern vessel, built in 1989, but the design is classic and goes all the way back to the age of exploration. Eighty-five feet from stem to stern, the Appledore IV holds up to 48 passengers and 4 crew members. During the Autumn color tour, pilgrims will spend 2 hours afloat cruising upriver on the Saginaw and enjoying a warm lunch while keeping a sharp eye out for fall foliage and wildlife. A new and unique way to see the unequaled splendor Mother Nature brings to Michigan each year.

The 2019 Autumn Color Tour River Cruise dates are Saturdays and Sundays during the month of October, with cruises casting off at 11 am and 2 pm for a 2 hour tour.
