On a nearly daily basis I'm amazed at the work medical science is doing to tackle some of the biggest threats to human health.  So much progress has been made in cancer cures, for instance, that it boggles the mind.  One of the problems has always been the speed at which the drugs can be brought to the market or in the hands of medical establishments.  In the case of our own Pfizer it's not so much what they did but what they didn't do.

In an article from the Washington Post on msn.com, a team of researchers inside Pfizer made a startling discovery in 2015.  The company's blockbuster rheumatoid arthritis therapy Enbrel (the one Phil Michelson does the commercial for), which is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug, appeared to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease by 64%.  Through testing Pfizer determined it didn't meet the necessary threshold to move forward but some in the scientific community believe that Enbrel may hold the key to a cure or at least treatment.  Check out the rest of the article by clicking HERE.
