Sports: Cavs’ Kyrie Gets Trade Wish
Kyrie Irving asked Cleveland Cavs owner Dan Gilbert to trade him earlier this summer. He got his wish. The Cavs and Celtics have swapped all-star guards, with IsiahThomas going to Cleveland along forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and a 2018 first-round draft pick.

The Lakeview Boys cross country team placed 5th out of 17 teams at the St. Joseph Invitational on Tuesday. The Lakeview girls placed 4th.

Little League World Series
Mexico has advanced in the Little League World Series by winning an elimination game against Venezuela, 8-0.
ESPN Removes Lee from Game
An ESPN broadcaster is being taken off an assignment, because his name is Robert Lee. Lee will not work Virginia's season opener because of recent violence in Charlottesville sparked by the decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. Lee is of Asian decent, and in no way related to the former Confederate General. ESPN says the decision to put Lee on another game was made "collectively." It also says it's "a shame that this is even a topic of conversation."
All America Team
The AP has released its first-ever preseason All-America College Football team. USC quarterback Sam Darnold and Penn State running back Saquon Barkley lead the list. The ACC lead all conferences with seven players on the first team.
KCC Volleyball
Kellogg Community College's 2017 women's volleyball season kicks off Thursday with the Bruins' first home match of the season, a conference matchup with Lake Michigan College. It’ll be at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse. The Fieldhouse is the Bruins' current home while the College's new Miller Physical Education Building is undergoing construction.
Tigers
The Tigers lost to the Yankees in the first of three games in Detroit, 13-5. Five Tiger pitchers were victims the Yankee onslaught, with only reliever Joe Jimenez getting thru an inning without giving up a run. In the 1st, the Yankees got off to a big start with a two run home run by Gary Sanchez. The Yankees added four more runs in the 3rd, and two runs in both the 5th and the 7th. Nick Castellanos hit two home runs and knocked in three Tiger runs. Starter Matt Boyd went just three and a third innings. Boyd gave up seven earned runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Jordan Zimmermann starts for the Tigers tonight. Hear the game at 6:45, on 95.3 WBCK.
