Thursday Night Football
The 9-3 New Orleans Saints travel to Atlanta to play the 7-5 Atlanta Falcons in a critical NFC South battle. New Orleans has a chance to take firm control of the division with a win.
Lions
The Lions are 6-6 and play at Tampa Bay this Sunday. Matthew Stafford is nursing a sore throwing hand, after it was stepped on last Sunday. Stafford was not seen throwing any passes during Wednesday’s practice. He’s been sacked 39 times this season, second most in the NFL, and the offensive line is banged up. Three wild-card contenders in the NFC have better records, and the Lions are one of three 6-6 teams who are currently on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. The Lions still have games against the Bears, Bengals and Packers.
