Palace Deal….Not

Suburban Detroit officials say they rejected a $384 million offer in June to buy the Palace of Auburn Hills.  The idea was to lease the Palace back to the team, but Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson says he was "not real happy" with the risk of owning a stadium "and not owning the team."   For the past several years, there have been rumors that the team might re-locate to downtown Detroit.

Cavs Win and Get Rings

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the New York Knicks 117-88, right across the road from Progressive Field where the Indians were winning Game 1 of the World Series.

MLB

Lions Football

The Detroit Lions have traded linebacker Kyle Van Noy to the New England Patriots. The Lions also signed linebacker Josh Bynes yesterday. Detroit drafted Van Noy out of BYU in the second round with the 40th overall pick in 2014 and he didn't appear to pan out as a key player. Van Noy became a first-time starter this season and had 23 tackles. The Lions hit the road to face Houston this weekend.  Broadcast time is 12 noon Sunday on WBCK.
