The Tigers ran their streak to 6 wins to start the season, sweeping the Tribe in Cleveland with an 8-5 win. Miguel Cabrera hit two home runs and drove in four as he went 4 for 4 at the plate. J.D. Martinez added a solo shot and three RBI on a three-hit night.  Kyle Lobstein picked up the win with five-innings of three-run ball and Joakim Soria notched the save. The Tigers have started the season at 6-and-0 four times:  In 1911, 1984 and 1985. Detroit visits the Pittsburgh Pirates for a three-game interleague series beginning this afternoon. Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for the Tigers, up against Gerrit Cole of the Pirates. Broadcast time is 1:10 on WBCK.

Pistons

The Detroit Pistons won their final home game Sunday 116-77 over the Charlotte Hornets. Jodie Meeks led the way with 24 points off the bench. Greg Monroe scored 17 points and grabbed nine boards while Andre Drummond picked up 15 points and 19 rebounds. Anthony Tolliver dropped 17 in 19 minutes. The Pistons finish the season on the road in Cleveland on Monday and against the Knicks on Wednesday.

Golf

Jordan Spieth completed a wire-to-wire win at the Masters on Sunday. The 21-year-old Spieth carded a two-under 70 in Sunday's final round to tie the tournament record of 18-under-par at Augusta National. Spieth bogeyed the final hole to finish in a tie for the tournament record with Tiger Woods, who set the mark in 1997. Meanwhile, three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose finished tied for second at 14-under. World number-one Rory McIlroy ended alone in fourth at 12-under after firing a six-under 66 on Sunday. Woods shot a one-over 73 in the final round and finished in a tie for 17th at five-under. He told CBS that his club struck a root, a bone in his wrist had "popped out," and that he "put it back in." The alleged injury occurred on the 9th hole. He played the remaining holes in even-par and finished tied for 17th place.

Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are the six-seed in the Eastern Conference First Round, which will begin Thursday in Florida. Detroit will match up with the Tampa Bay Lightning, which earned the third-seed in the playoffs. The Red Wings finished the season 43-25-and-14 following a 2-0 shutout of Carolina on Saturday. The Lightning enter the post-season on a three-game winning streak. Detroit lost three of four to Tampa Bay this season.

Sabres Clinch Last Place
Hockey's regular season came to a close over the weekend. Buffalo, with a league-low 23 wins and league-high 51 losses (and 113 inches of snow this year!!!) secured the first choice in the upcoming amateur draft.

KCC Softball

KCC split a pair with KVCC on Sunday in Softball, losing 2-0 but winning game 2, 13-6.  Holly Van Tilburg lost a tough one in game 1, as her team was shut out.  Everybody chipped in for the game 2 win.  With a sweep over Grand Rapids on Saturday, KCC is now 14-2 in conference play.

KCC Baseball

KCC’s baseball team is 10-2 in conference play after a Saturday split with Henry Ford Community College in Taylor.  Alex Goodwin and Tyler Bradner each went 2 for 4 and knocked in two runs in the game 2 win.

NASCAR

Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag at the Duck Commander 500 Saturday night. Kevin Harvick passed Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final turn to earn second.  Earnhardt Jr., Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.
