The World Series is tied at a game apiece, after a wild, see-saw game on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.  The Dodgers and Astros each hit four home runs, and when it was over, the Astros won it 7-6 in11 innings.  Justin Verlander had a no-hitter going into the fifth when Joc Pederson homered.  Verlander gave up a two-run shot in the 6th, and ended up pitching six innings and giving up just the two hits.  But, the Astros trailed 3-1. Verlander also batted twice, laying down a sacrifice bunt and striking out before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth.  The Astros’ Marwin Gonzales got Verlander off the hook in the 9th with a home run.  Back to back homers from Altuve and Correa gave Houston a lead in the 10th.  But the Dodgers tied it again in the 10th.   Houston’s George Springer’s blast put Houston ahead by two in the 11th.  The Dodgers hit another homer in their half of the 11th but fell a run short.  Game three is Friday in Houston.  Lance McCullers will start for the Astros against Yu Darvish of the Dodgers.

Pistons

The Pistons beat the Timberwolves 122-101 at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit.   The Pistons started off slowly, as Minnesota scored the first 9 points.  Detroit trailed after a quarter, but outscored Minnesota 40-18 in the second quarter to take control of the game.  Tobias Harris scored 34 points.  Avery Bradley added 20 for the Pistons.  Andre Drummond had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Pistons, who improved to 3-2. The Pistons head west for three games.  They’ll play the Clippers on Saturday night, the Warriors on Sunday night and the Lakers on Tuesday night.

Fan Gets $18 Series Tix

A Dodgers fan named Jordan Benedict scored tickets to Game 2 of the World Series for $18 on StubHub.  Whoever posted the tickets made a mistake and listed the wrong price.  But StubHub still honored it.  The way Benedict explains it; he bought the tickets and then called StubHub to make sure it was legit.  A supervisor called him back later and said they had to void the sale, but they gave him another pair of tickets in the same part of the stadium for the price he paid.
