Springfield Father Headed To Trial On Infant Abuse Charges
A 23-year-old Springfield father will go to trial on an abuse charge involving his infant daughter. The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Brady West was bound over to Calhoun County Circuit Court Thursday on a charge of second-degree child abuse. It followed the testimony by the child's mother, a doctor and an investigating officer.
West is accused of injuring his daughter Elenor when she was just 10-weeks-old. 28-year-old Susan Moutz, the child's mother, said she returned home from work on March 28th and discovered her daughter had several broken blood vessels in her face. Doctors found not only facial injuries, but also evidence of five broken ribs in the baby's back and a fracture of the child's leg.
