A Thursday afternoon storm that rolled through the state hit some areas of Southwest Michigan pretty hard. The storm knocked out power for a good majority of Marshall residents.

As of 3pm Thursday, Consumers Energy reports that roughly 1500 customers in the Marshall area are currently in the dark. Battle Creek and Albion area residents are also without power, with roughly 1000 customers in each area. Power should be restored around 7pm in Battle Creek and 8pm in Albion.

The hardest hit area is in the Otsego-Plainwell area in Allegan County, where 5000 customers are without power. Their power should be restored around 5pm today.
