Sturgis Gas Leak Moves Girls Basketball Game to Battle Creek Central

A gas leak in Sturgis has made tonight's Battle Creek Central girls basketball game a home game, and cancelled school at Sturgis High School   Paulette Garrett from the  Battle Creek Central High School Athletic Office confirmed that the Division 1 Girls District Final will be held tonight (Friday March 8th) at Old Central Fieldhouse in Battle Creek   She says a National Honor Society Event made the newer gym unavailable.

Shortly before noon today, a post on the Sturgis Public Schools Facebook page indicated that High School students were being sent home and that no other Sturgis school buildings were affected.

The Battle Creek Central Bearcats beat Sturgis on Wednesday to get to tonight's District final with Coldwater.    Tip off is 7pm at the historic Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse.
