Some time ago, law enforcement officials, decrying skyrocketing overdose statistics in Battle Creek and elsewhere, were calling for a missing link in the community: An addiction recovery center.

After moving quickly to respond to the need, Summit Pointe can say, today, there is one.

The center opened March 13, 2017 at 215 East Roosevelt Avenue in Battle Creek, under the auspices of Summit Pointe. Professionals working there tell 95.3 WBCK it is the first step toward recovery when someone has an addiction.

Click the player below to hear recovery coaches Ron Henson and Loretta Robb and psychologist Shannon Roberts discuss their roles at the new center, and how they expect it will help curb the local overdose statistics.
