The Battle Creek Police Department, in coordination with Summit Pointe and the Battle Creek Community Foundation, has received just over $1 million in U.S. Department of Justice grants to fund crisis intervention and victim advocate programs.
As crews were working, a group of around a dozen protesters formed outside of the St. Philip Catholic Church, carrying signs saying things like “stop promoting sexuality to our kids”.
The City of Battle Creek says that Anybodies Playground at Bailey Park will be closed, and will remain closed until it can dry out; standing water was found in many of the play areas.
KCC says Tuesday that the new project at the intersection of North and Roosevelt Avenues will bring a paved pedestrian path, a sculpture pad, bike rental station, trees and native plants, and a large “Welcome to Battle Creek" sign.
