There is a new boil water advisory for parts of Albion, due to a water main repair. Areas affected include parts of Irwin Avenue, Crescent Street and Woodlawn Blvd.
The City of Battle Creek says that from now until Friday, Capital Ave. SW at Weeks Ave. will be completely closed, with a detour being posted on Golden Ave, Columbia Ave, and Riverside Dr. Emergency vehicles will not be able to get through.
These boil water advisories are in place because a large scale effort is taking place to replace parts of the water main system. When the water pressure in the system is lowered, potentially harmful bacteria could possibly enter the water supply.
The City says that on Monday, portions of Broadway, Sigel, Ashland and West Spaulding will have their water turned off. On Wednesday, a number of streets including Hubbard St, Helen M Montgomery Ave, and Saunders Ct. will see shutoffs.
A pair of boil water advisories have been issued for portions of Battle Creek, as crews continue to work on the water system. Residents are advised to boil their water for at least a minute for using it for things like drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, washing dishes and food preparation.
The City says that residents on Baldwin Ave and Roosevelt Ave. between Washington and Howland, and on Howland between Roseneath and Roosevelt, are affected.
