A driver has now died, a week and a half after their car rolled over in Calhoun County. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says Friday that the accident took place on November 4, on M-60 near 10 ½ Mile Rd. in Burlington Township; deputies found a vehicle that had flipped over several times and landed on its side in a field.

Police had initially been called to the area of the Fox Ridge Apartments on a report of someone threatening others with a handgun, and when they arrived they saw an individual fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle initially refused to stop for police, but after around a 20 minute chase the suspect did finally stop.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to A Dr. N near 14 mile Rd. in Marshall Township around 2:30am Monday, September 11 to find that a sedan and pickup truck had collided head-on. The sedan was on fire, and a 19-year-old passenger from Marshall was trapped inside.

61-year-old Stuart Lewis died as a result of his injuries Thursday afternoon at the hospital in Kalamazoo. Shortly after the accident September 7, the Sheriff’s Office said that Lewis was crossing the Army Ave. near the Brookside Apartments, when a sedan driven by a 24-year-old Battle Creek woman struck him; he was then taken to the hospital with severe head trauma.
