The City of Battle Creek and the Calhoun County/Greater Battle Creek Homeless Coalition will be conducting their annual census of homeless individuals next week.
The City says that workers and volunteers will be going throughout the community from January 31 to February 2, and speaking with people not only in shelters but those who are staying in atypical locations.
A recently announced pilot program in Calhoun County will be a huge help to homeless citizens who do not have a state-issued identification card. That's the word from the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region.
