Michigan State Police investigate after a shooting involving a Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputy left one person dead.

A 21-year-old Kalamazoo resident was struck by gunfire while sitting in their vehicle, Saturday night, September 25th.

A Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputy was among law enforcement officers from several departments responding to a case of a vehicle wanted after eluding police yesterday. Deputy Ryan Proxmire was shot and killed in the confrontation that followed.
