Kalamazoo Fire Department

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety recently made a behind the scenes video demonstrating how vehicles and equipment for their police, fire department, and S.W.A.T. team work.

Authorities have identified a person of interest, that could be connected to the fatal fire in Kalamazoo, Sunday, February 3rd, in Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to a home, around 2:15 AM, in the 400 block of Wallace Street, to battle a blaze. Upon entering the home, they encountered heavy smoke with fire throughout the structure. The conditions quickly deteriorated and the fire fighters left the home to begin a defensive attack from the exterior.

Fire officials say the Long John Silver’s located in Kalamazoo on West Main Street may be a total loss.
