The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Bureau of Marijuana Regulation issued the health and safety advisory recall on Thursday, for the products sold at Compassionate Care By Design in Kalamazoo, located at 401 N. Sage St.
Regulators say that Bobbi Greenwood-Easter committed numerous violations of state rules. In one case, MI LARA says that the owner of Assisted Living W Drive North took out a $33,000 car loan in a resident's name without their knowledge.
LARA says in a release Monday that they want to clarify the use of “dispensary” and other terms by medical marijuana provisioning centers, in regards to state law. They say that under state law, provisioning centers cannot call themselves a dispensary, pharmacy, or drug store, nor use those and other terms in their advertising.
This year, the City Commission approved allowing medical marijuana facilities to open up within city limits consistent with state law, and the City Clerk announced Thursday that they are awaiting those businesses. The application period runs from June 7 to June 28, and no applications will be accepted outside of that time.
The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs says on Wednesday that Frederick Grove prescribed controlled substances, particularly things like opioids and muscle relaxers, in dosages and combinations that can be dangerous.
