The City of Battle Creek says that the Bronson Medical and Imaging Facility on Beckley Rd. will be getting rid of their old MRI machine, forcing the closure.
According to the Battle Creek City Commission’s Agenda for their meeting next Tuesday, a pair of resolutions will be considered that would accept bids on two projects; one would be a $58,000 contract for the Pavement Rejuvenation Program for this year, while the other is a $1.1 million contract for the 2018 Rehabilitation and Sidewalk program.
The City of Battle Creek says that from now until Friday, Capital Ave. SW at Weeks Ave. will be completely closed, with a detour being posted on Golden Ave, Columbia Ave, and Riverside Dr. Emergency vehicles will not be able to get through.
The City says that the crack fill program is designed to prevent cracks in the pavement from spreading, in an effort to extended the life of recently-treated roads for about two or three years.
A grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation to fix up a road in Calhoun County is designed to help support economic development. MDOT says in a release that the Transportation Economic Development Fund grant will go towards repairing a stretch of F Drive North in Emmett Township, where Flex-N-Gate Battle Creek is located.
The City of Battle Creek says just before 11am that the first break took place in the area of Iroquois Ave, Territorial Rd, and Capital Ave. SW to Foster. The second break was at the intersection of Wood Ave. and Parkway Dr.
A major road closure starts in Battle Creek Thursday.
