Over the last 36 hours, the area got hit with a combination of heavy rain, then freezing rain, then heavy wet snow, all aggravated by strong gusty winds coming in off Lake Superior.
The next major winter weather event of the season is expected to rip through most parts of Michigan Sunday, including Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and surrounding areas.
There are still some without power following Monday morning’s winter storm, but electricity has been restored to most of the thousands who were in the dark in Southwest Michigan.
