A police chase through southern Calhoun County Sunday led to an arrest.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says Monday that around 2:40am Sunday, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Tekonsha. The driver instead sped off, and a pursuit began, with the suspect vehicle attempting to ram police cruisers.

Authorities eventually disabled the vehicle in Union City, causing the driver to flee on foot; however, he was arrested with the help of a K-9 unit.

The 30-year-old suspect from Tekonsha is now facing traffic charges, as well as drug charges, after an active meth lab was found in the vehicle.
