Not just music made by Michiganders, this is music inspired by the wonder of Michigan.

What is the Michigan sound? Is it "the Sound of Young America" as Berry Gordy branded Motown? Is it the punk of MC5 and Iggy & the Stooges? The classic rock of Bob Seger, Alice Cooper and Glenn Frey's contribution to the Eagles and our lifetime love of music? The incomparable Aretha Franklin? Of course, we can't forget 80s icon Madonna, and Greta Van Fleet are making an impact on the scene today. What is that definitive Michigan sound?

Pure Michigan has captured it, quite literally, with an ambitious new project called, cleverly, Pure Sounds of Michigan. They describe it as

a soothing compilation album that invites listeners to take a virtual, sunrise-to-sunset tour of the state from coast to coast as interpreted by some of Michigan’s most talented musicians. Organically inspired, the album is composed using signature ambient sounds of nature captured from 10 Michigan State Parks throughout the peninsulas—from gentle streams to rolling waves and indigenous birds to a variety of Michigan’s natural elements. Pure Sounds of Michigan will send you on a transformational trek to a pure state of mind.

Check out the Soundcloud playlist below. I'd describe it as pure relaxation. This is hammock music: nature & chill.
