Three Area Girls Basketball Teams Advance to Regionals

It was another Friday night in the High School Basketball ranks in the Michigan High School Athletic Association. After exciting action in the Boys Regionals Thursday, it was the Girls turn on the hardwood.

There were six area squads that took to the floor in the finals, with two of them involving City schools. There was also a last minute change of location, after Sturgis High School was closed in the afternoon as a precaution for a possible gas leak. That was supposed to be the Division 1 site for Battle Creek Central and Coldwater's final. The game was moved to the Central Field House.

Below are the scores from the Finals and the upcoming schedule for the Girls Regionals that continue on Monday.

Division 1 at Sturgis (game moved to Battle Creek Central) - Coldwater 47, Battle Creek Central 38
Division 2 at Jonesville - Harper Creek 55, Jonesville 30
Division 3 at Delton - Delton 37, Bronson 36
Division 4 at Athens - Athens 53, Bellevue 49

Monday, March 11^th
Division 2 at Ionia - Harper Creek vs. Haslett - 7:30pm
Division 3 at Bronson - Centreville vs. Delton - 5:30pm
Division 4 at Lansing Christian - Athens vs. Adrian Lenawee Christian - 7pm
