Two people were arrested early Monday morning in Kalamazoo after they were found in a car with drugs and a weapon.

WWMT reports that just after midnight Monday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety pulled over a vehicle on South Rose St. near Wall St.  Inside, they found a 22-year-old passenger from Kalamazoo, who was in possession of cocaine.  The suspect was arrested on several charges.

A stolen handgun was also found inside the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle initially lied about his name, but KDPS investigators did identify the 21-year-old from Kalamazoo, and found that he had several outstanding warrants.  The driver was arrested on warrants, along with charges of felony firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and operating while intoxicated.
