Traffic Stop In Kalamazoo Monday Turns Up Drugs, Firearm
Two people were arrested early Monday morning in Kalamazoo after they were found in a car with drugs and a weapon.
WWMT reports that just after midnight Monday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety pulled over a vehicle on South Rose St. near Wall St. Inside, they found a 22-year-old passenger from Kalamazoo, who was in possession of cocaine. The suspect was arrested on several charges.
A stolen handgun was also found inside the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle initially lied about his name, but KDPS investigators did identify the 21-year-old from Kalamazoo, and found that he had several outstanding warrants. The driver was arrested on warrants, along with charges of felony firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and operating while intoxicated.
